Information You Enter
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Hamden Residents Directory does not retain a duplicate of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to respond.
Routine Technical Logs
Our hosting provider records standard server-log details, including an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review those details in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which Hamden reference pages are used. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and, when present, advertising measurement.
How We Use It
The limited information helps operate the pages, troubleshoot faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual user profiles from it.
Outside Portals and Services
Pages may point to Hamden, Connecticut, New Haven County, library, archive, and third-party search resources. Once you leave for one of those services, its own privacy policy controls the information you submit there. Sponsored results are also supplied by a separate provider.
Who May Process It
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while supporting the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the routine technical information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is not made.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and server logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above require. Because there are no accounts, this service has no site password or user profile for an attacker to obtain.
People Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent information to us, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Connecticut Privacy Choices
Depending on the request and whether it falls within the law's scope, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act information and Chapter 743jj describe rights that can include access, correction, deletion, or opting out of covered data uses. Because this service keeps very little, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs, then removing what is found.
Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records held by Connecticut agencies, Hamden offices, courts, or other custodians serving New Haven County are outside this service's control. A public-record request can follow the Hamden FOI route, while a correction or removal request for an official record must go to the office that holds it.
Policy Updates
Changes will be posted here with the revised policy. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the new version.
